Sony Bravia - Colour Your World 2006
The brief: To launch the new BRAVIA X-Series LCD televisions in the online environment.
The challenge: We also had to extend Sony Australia's Full On Colour campaign thought in an online environment, while tying in closely with the global "Paint" TVC execution.
The idea: We dramatised the superior colour reproduction of Sony LCD TVs by incorporating video footage of splashing paint throughout the site. Each area of the site was filled with liquid textures.
A 3D spectroscopic version of the site was also designed. Users could view this special version of the site using 3D glasses provided at point-of-sale, via DM, and at Sony-sponsored events.
To add a further incentive, we added the "Colour Your World and Win" promotion. Using a modified Google Maps interface, users could paint part of Australia in their favourite colour, and enter a draw to win a BRAVIA LCD TV.
Results: Sony regained its position as Australia's leading television brand, and the BRAVIA X-Series launch was the most successful in Sony Australia's history.
Update: The Bravia site was also updated to accommodate Bravia's new 100Hz Technology. This technology is tailored for watching fast action sport and so all paint references were substituted for balls from different sports.
